In all of my time as a student I have participated in numerous annual dance, music and drama productions on small-scale stages. The productions have enabled me to get first-hand experience of working as a performer behind the scenes, understanding equipment, time-management and the uncredited extra bits and bobs that make sure the shows run smoothly. In addition to this, I have contributed to the facilitation of these productions as a House Captain, in which the choreography, casting and organising were lead by a small 4-person team in a two-week period between conception and final showcase. Furthermore, my art practice at the University of Reading has had a large chunk of my focus dedicated to the AV studio. Working with videography and the use of projections I have been able to work hand-in hand with projectors, lighting, and audio, which have enabled me to use my prior knowledge in a contrasting point of view from what I have already worked with in the past. It has been important to work carefully with this equipment, as small details can make large differences. Outside of this direct experience, I am a keen learner, always working hard to make sure I retain my knowledge in particular detail. With time I am able to gain extensive confidence with this knowledge, applying it with the motivation that I know I have learnt correctly, and if not, that I will learn from this instance.
