Description

My name is Tom, I'm a 2024 Television Graduate from Falmouth University. I live directly in the middle between Birmingham and Worcester in the Midlands. I have specialised in the camera department, learning how to use equipment such as Sony FX6s, A7s, RED Gemini, ARRI Alexa and SR3 Advanced. I have used these cameras across multiple projects from single camera dramas set in forests at night, to troll cave sets built in our university studios. I have a thorough, but not expert, knowledge of the ins and outs of how the cameras work and wish to learn and hone my skills as much as possible.
I'm a good listener and quick learner, so I'm welcome to taking on new responsibilities and getting stuck in when it comes to production, whilst maintaining professionalism. I have recently completed a week's work experience on a feature film set night shoot. Working from 6pm to 6am as a lighting trainee was an invaluable experience and gave me great insight into the roles of everyone on a real film set. After this experience, I excited to help out on any production to learn and grow my knowledge and craft.

Special Interests

I especially love equipment. I've always had a fascination with mechanics and machinery. Therefore, anything related to cameras, lighting or grip work is of great interest to me. I am always enthusiastic to learn how to handle new equipment, and make sure it's done in a safe manner. In my time I have used gimbals, sliders, dollies with tracks, and jibs. I've also been in charge of controlling the 'Moon' on the feature film I worked on. Using an huge ARRI M18 to flood the harbour location for a moonlit scene.
Camera work is very important to me, I've worked with a variety of camera systems and hope to be adaptable to any productions' workflow. Whether it be using an ARRI, RED, Blackmagic, Sony or Canon camera set-up I hope to be able to help rig them out an operate or be as a 1st AC, 2nd AC or D.I.T. All of these roles I have a small amount of experience with.
