I am an experienced Set Decorator and Prop Master, versatile, multi-skilled and passionate about my job. Creative, flexible, reliable, outgoing, I am confident in taking initiatives and have the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure. Having worked in the entertainment industry for 5 years, I had the chance to gain experience on a variety of large scale projects and recently Disney’s Broadway style musical productions, showcasing international casts. Some representative examples of my portfolio include work on Frozen and Aladdin (theatre),Creature (National English Ballet), Magdalene Odundo plinths (exhibition at the Hepworth gallery,Wakefield), Lenny Kravitz (tour set), The Prodigy (tour set), Rammstein (tour set), and Kez (filmproduction), Scarefest 2021 Trick O Treat (theme park). I also have a Bachelor degree in Set design (Communication and 3D design) with a complementary year in theatre and puppetry design.
During my time in Brilliant Stages as Scenic assistant, I have worked on multiple projects including the building of concert tour sets requiring various skillsets, exhibition plinths allowing me to improve my carpentry skills and working on theatre, event and film production sets under the direction of a creative team. I have also worked for Alton Towers as Scenic Specialist, maintained existing props, puppets, scenic elements and participated in new projects such as the making of a new puppet and the build of a new scare maze which challenged my problem-solving skills. When working for Disney Cruise Line at the Walt Disney Theatre on the Disney Wonder and theDisney Fantasy as Prop Technician, I have been in charge of preventative maintenance, as well as repairs of all props, puppets and stage set onboard. Keeping them show ready, managing performer's interfaces, which helped me develop my communication skills, managing my workload and progress to fit deadlines, ordering stocks while keeping my work area in order have been some of my duties.Along with the maintenance, I have familiarised myself with daily setups and props pre-sets for each show, had to learn and run stage tracks efficiently, helping with occasional show stops andcontingencies. With three different shows onboard, we had to perform changeovers as a team at least three times a week, which brought me confidence in playing a key role loading the shows in and out. Thanks to cast crossovers, I was part of crucial rehearsals, some involving stunts and puppet fittings, always dedicated to safety in this venue with multiple axes of automation.
