I am an edit assistant that’s worked in Live daytime tv, in-house documentaries as well as a post-facility.I was an edit assistant for the Channel 4 daytime show Steph’s Packed Lunch, during my time there it was important to learn quickly and be adaptable to the circumstances of the day due to it being a live show every day was different from the last. Being flexible and performing tasks outside of your role was common; this involved editing small packages or making a quick change to handling the VO recordings of presenters and guests. At Candour Productions, I was a part of the in-house offline post facility for their productions which were typically docuseries and non-scripted entertainment tv. With around 4 productions currently either in the ingesting/syncing or editing stages.I also spent time at Edit123 which is a post-house in Scotland. It supported 20 Avid edits, covering the ingest, offline, online and dubbing as well as the delivery of the show to the various channels. Avid Media Composer is the primary editing software i’ve used, however i’m experienced with the adobe suite and resolveMy main tasks were usually ingesting and syncing rushes from a variety of cameras such as Sony, Canon, Arri and Gopros. This was done through Avid or through a 3rd party software to bulk ingest cards to correct codec and importing the AAF into Avid. File handling of rushes such as drive backups and using LTOs for master files. Conforming finished offline cuts and creating split-track exports for VO recordings.Technical assistance for Editors, clients and managing remote access to the avid suiteRunning QC checks on the master AS11 file for delivery as well managing delivery to the channel
