I have a broad and diverse range of skill working within the Art Department coming from an Art and Design background. My passion for the industry began with scenic painting at local theatres during secondary school and I progressed through a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, specialising in 3D Design - Awarded with a Distinction. I graduated with a High 2:1 in 2013 at Nottingham Trent Uni studying Design for Film and Television.
I gained my first role as Art Dept Assistant for a feature film within the same year and have achieved positions in varied production budgets since.
Roles including: Design Assistant, Prop Maker, Petty Cash Buyer, Assistant Buyer, Standby Art Director, Assistant Art Director, Art Director and recently Production Designer. My tasks and roles have enabled me to become a well rounded and confident creative working in office, workshop and on-set. In the office, I have great experience in graphic design, art department breakdowns - story/schedule order, planning and organisation, research, concept design and development, drawing/sketching, floor plans and set dressing plans, dress/strike plans, communication, team work, buying and budgeting.
On set I have great experience with set dressing and dressing a scene to shot, basic DIY, team work and management, continuity, set and strike, prop handling, lifting and driving prop vans. I am good with quick thinking and problem solving and can adapt to situations under the pressure of a fast paced production.
In a workshop environment I have a strong eye for design and enjoy working with varied mediums and materials to paint backdrops, floors and flats with appropriate scenic style and texture. Create lightweight and sturdy props for actors to wear, props for set dressing and action with repeats. I recently worked on a TV - Pilot as Art Director for a creative engineering show, the turn around time was very short and I take pride in my strong work ethic.
