Description
I am a versatile Prop Maker, Illustrator and Graphic Designer, specialising in character-based crafts and hand-illustration for film and TV. I research thoroughly and work meticulously to produce work to a high standard, but also have a good eye for the "loveable" or "charming" look of items made by non-professionals, especially children.
I can knit, crochet, sew and embroider. I have made all kinds of clothing, toys/dolls and soft furnishings. I'm quick to learn new skills and will have a go at pretty much anything in the needlecrafts, textiles, papercrafts, and old lady skills arena. I also have experience in basic woodworking, papier mache, model-making and sculpting with plaster and clay.
Although I'm best known for more traditional hand-illustration and painting, I'm dragging myself into the 21st century by seeking more digital Graphic Design work too. I'm competent in Illustrator, Photoshop and ProCreate and am learning AfterEffects. I have experience designing all kinds of graphics including handwriting, doodles and artwork, grafitti, murals and school projects; company logos, signage and packaging; police files, official documents and records; music merchendising, film posters, novels and magazines; in-action computer graphics, GIFs and short animations. I have also hand-doubled, creating live graphics on camera.
I took an extended period off work to care for my Grandmother full-time, but am now back up to speed and looking for any opportunities tin the Art Department.
