Description
I am a film editor focused on offline and online editing for indie features, shorts, and festival films. I treat editing as the stage where a film is finally written, where pacing, performance, and the shape of a scene are decided.
My offline process starts with the story. I work closely with directors to understand what the film is really about, then build the cut from there. By the time a sequence reaches online, every cut has a reason to be there. In the online stage, I handle conform, codec management, mixed-source material, and roundtrips between Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Pro Tools, and After Effects. I plan the offline edit with the downstream pipeline in mind so colour, sound, and VFX teams receive material they can use.
Editing is my main craft, but I work across the full pre and post-production process. I have a mid level skill in lighting and top level skill in videography and I have graded in DaVinci Resolve and Premiere's Lumetri, with hands-on experience in RED RAW, IPP2 colour science, and Log3G10/REDWideGamutRGB pipelines. I have used Pro Tools for sound design and mixing, including loudness compliance for streaming and broadcast. I have handled VFX integration through Premiere and After Effects.
A clear sense of when a tool fits and when it doesn't. I know when an XML roundtrip into Resolve is right and when timeline complexity makes a Premiere-native finish the better call. I document my decisions so collaborators are not left to figure out what I did. I am drawn to material with psychological weight, characters under pressure, tension built through restraint, films that trust the audience.
These are the tools I've mastered: Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, Pro Tools, Media Encoder. Comfortable with RED RAW, mixed-source conform, and delivery for YouTube, Vimeo, festival DCP, and archival masters.
