Description

Royal Academy of Dramatic Art trained Wardrobe Technician and Footwear Specialist with over a decade of professional experience across major West End productions, large scale international touring shows, and resident theatrical productions worldwide. Highly skilled in all aspects of costume maintenance, alteration, and repair, with particular expertise in performance footwear including construction, modification, fitting, and ongoing condition management.

Technically proficient in hand sewing to a high standard, domestic and industrial sewing machines, and overlockers. Experienced in the care and preparation of complex, high value costume pieces, continuity management, and the fitting and alteration of garments to individual performer requirements.

Screen experience include Crowd Costume Daily on Meg 2: The Trench at WB Studios Leavesden and Victor Frankenstein (2014), and Costume Trainee on The Guvnors (2013), where I worked as a Costume Trainee my first experience of the screen production environment. Across these productions I have gained hands on experience in costume allocation, continuity, preparation, and the management of large numbers of background artists in both studio and on location settings. I am eager to develop my screen career further and bring the precision, attention to detail, and professionalism forged across years of high pressure live production into the film and television industry.

Productions include: Cirque du Soleil’s Luzia (International Tour), Get Up Stand Up The Bob Marley Musical (Lyric Theatre), The House of Dancing Water (City of Dreams Resort and Casino, Macau SAR China), Dreamgirls (Savoy Theatre), Follies and St George and the Dragon (Olivier Theatre, National Theatre), Beautiful The Carole King Musical (Aldwych Theatre), Wicked! The Musical and the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Ceremonies.

Special Interests

I am a maker at heart, and that thread runs through everything I do both professionally and personally. Outside of work, I am an active practitioner of heritage crafts including pottery, knitting, and crochet; disciplines that demand the same patience, precision, and respect for materials that I bring to my work in costume and wardrobe every day. There is something deeply satisfying about working with your hands to create something of lasting quality, and it is a value I carry with me in everything I make or maintain.

I have a lifelong love of arts and culture. I am a regular visitor to museums and art galleries, drawn particularly to collections that celebrate the history of craft, textile, and design the V&A being a particular favourite. The cinema is another great passion; I find enormous inspiration in the world of film, not least in the extraordinary work of costume designers whose artistry shapes character and story in ways that are often invisible to the audience but utterly transformative on screen. It is this admiration that has strengthened my ambition to develop my career in film and television costume.

Professionally, my personal interests and my working life are deeply intertwined. A career that has taken me from the stages of London's West End to the arenas of Macau, across Europe, Asia and around the world has given me not only a broad technical skillset but a genuine curiosity about people, cultures, and the stories we tell through the clothes we wear. Whether I am at a pottery wheel, knitting needles or crochet hook in hand, or carefully working on a complex performance costume, the impulse is always the same to do it well, to do it with care, and to take pride in the craft.
