Description
Creatively, I come from an observational documentary background, where I have worked as a DOP,
director, and camera operator across a range of intimate, character-led student films. My work
includes documentaries following a community of monks, a Japanese woman rebuilding her life after
immigrating to Bristol, and a football team in Wrexham, Wales made up of men from all walks of life.
These projects required patience, sensitivity, and a strong instinct for storytelling, skills where understanding behaviour, anticipating
moments, and crafting narrative through images are essential.
Alongside my personal documentary work, I have built a strong professional portfolio working with
commercial clients including Superdry, L’Oréal, and Boomtown. These experiences have
strengthened my technical precision, adaptability, and ability to deliver high-quality visuals under
pressure and to brief. Working across varied briefs and fast-paced environments has refined my eye
for composition, lighting, and movement, while reinforcing a collaborative mindset skills I bring equally
to long-form storytelling and observational filmmaking.
Through this work, I have developed a confident and versatile camera skillset, including handheld and
long-lens operation, working in unpredictable environments, and capturing unfolding action with
minimal intervention. I am comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative
team, and I am used to managing kit, problem-solving under pressure, and maintaining a high
technical standard in the field. My experience logging footage, managing media, and contributing
editorially are useful additions which make me adaptable. I have filmed on a range of
Cameras, including a Sony FX9, Sony FX6, Sony FX3, Aarton 16mm, Canon 310 AF Super 8 and an
Arri Alexa mini.
