After 3.5 years working at Universal in acquisitions (first as an assistant, then later to a jr executive), I made a decision to leave late last year to pursue production opportunities. I've recently finished a Producer’s Assistant temp cover, which reaffirmed production is where I want to be. In my previous role, I've had to be really organised, frequently communicated with talent/studio execs and am familiar with production and legal paperwork. I'm used to working longer hours and having to think quickly on my feet to solve problems. This was incredibly important during festivals and markets, where I've been on-the-ground support staff (and where the priorities and needs of the team change constantly!) I'm over 25, have a full clean drivers licence and have completed the following trainings: The Safe Sets Starter Pack (Safe Elephant), High-End TV Scripted Production Paperwork (ScreenSkills), Safeguarding for all: Basic awareness for the screen industries (ScreenSkills), Tackling harassment and bullying at work - (ScreenSkills). Ultimately, I’m keen to get stuck in and get some first hand experience working within a production team and think I have many transferrable skills that provide me with a solid base for my first on-set role in production.
