Description
Nick Curtis-Purnell is a Bath/Bristol-based Production Assistant/Floor Runner/Assistant Director trainee and Sound Assistant/Trainee with experience across high-end TV, factual entertainment, and independent productions. He has worked with companies including Twenty Twenty, Happy Prince, and Sharp Entertainment, contributing to fast-paced shoots for major broadcasters and streamers.
A multi-disciplinary filmmaker in the early stages of his career, Nick is actively developing experience across both the Assistant Director and Sound departments, building a broad, practical understanding of on-set workflows before committing to a specialist pathway. This cross-departmental approach allows him to support productions with a wider awareness of scheduling, technical requirements, and team collaboration.
His credits include First Dates (Channel 4), Rivals (Disney+), and 90 Day: The Last Resort (Discovery), where he has supported schedule flow, managed cast and contributor movement, maintained on-set discipline, and assisted technical teams. He also has hands-on sound experience, including lav mic placement, RF workflow support, and timecode systems, alongside award-winning work recognised by the RTS South West Student Awards.
A BA (Hons) Filmmaking graduate from UWE Bristol, Nick brings a calm, proactive mindset to set. With a background in high-pressure hospitality, he offers strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills, and thrives in collaborative, fast-paced production environments.
