Through running my own interiors and art business, Hutt Decor, I have developed strong transferable skills across prop buying, set dressing, and location support.
As buyer for Hutt Decor, I source furniture, artworks, decorative objects, and materials for both stock and client projects, working to briefs, budgets, and aesthetic requirements. This involves research, supplier liaison, evaluating condition and suitability, managing logistics, and problem-solving when items are unavailable or need adaptation. I bring a strong eye for period, style, and authenticity, alongside clear organisation and accurate tracking of items.
My background in residential, retail and gallery installations has given me extensive experience dressing interior spaces with furniture, props, lighting, wall-hung works, and soft furnishings, ensuring spaces feel cohesive, believable, and visually balanced. I am confident with hands-on tasks including painting, decorating, basic carpentry and DIY, safe manual handling, and on-site adjustments during installs.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Three-Dimensional Materials Practice, with a strong grounding in art and design history, materials, and methods of display. This academic background supports my practical work, enabling me to research references effectively, understand materials and finishes, and build or adapt set elements with confidence.
I am organised, reliable, and calm under pressure, comfortable working long days, following direction, and supporting teams in fast-moving production environments. I hold a full UK driving licence, am confident driving vans, and am happy to travel.
