An aspiring costume assistant for film and tv, I have 3 years of experience at university, learning costume maintenance, how to fit, and design processes. I have a keen interest in how costume reflects character, social background and identity. I am currently seeking an opportunity to kick-start my career in the exciting film industry.
I have a special interest in costume design and making, more specifically I have a passion for visual story-telling. I love visual storytelling through costume to see how it reflects the characters personality, social status and time-period. I have an eye-for detail and love doing character research and creating mood boards. My interests include developing practical on-set skills within the costume department, such as assisting with fittings, continuity, organisation, and collaboration with designers, supervisors, and other departments. I am keen to strengthen my understanding of the full production process and the role costume plays within it, from script breakdown and research through to shooting and post-production.During my time at university I developed my sewing skills and learnt a new skill in using an embroidery machine, this is something I am hoping to use again in the future and has expanded my knowledge of textures and intricate detail.
