Freelance scenic carpenter / practical maker based in West Berkshire and available for calls. Hands-on build support for Art Dept / Construction Dept: timber framing, flats/walls, platforms, braces, repairs, knock-ups, set dressing installs, strike/get-outs, and keeping builds tidy/safe on schedule. Confident with hand & power tools, measuring/setting out, drilling/screwing, basic rigging awareness, and problem-solving under time pressure.Scenic finishing support: prepping, filling/sanding, basic texture and ageing/distressing, quick “camera-ready” repairs, prop/set piece maintenance and resets. Comfortable working with production teams, taking direction, working independently, and jumping between tasks. Reliable, organised, positive on site. Happy to start as additional/extra hand while building screen credits. Also comfortable supporting production office basics when needed (email/comms, lists, logs).
Screen and live/immersive builds that need practical, fast solutions: set construction, location builds, short turnaround refurb/refresh, dressing installs, and prop/set-piece maintenance. Particularly interested in Berkshire/Hampshire location work or Bristol / South West, unit-base support, and productions that value local crew for quick calls and flexible cover. Also interested in immersive/themed environments and practical scenic finishes (texture, ageing, distressed timbers/metals, quick disguise/patching). Keen on sustainable/upcycled approaches where appropriate (repairing, repurposing materials) and building repeat relationships with local production hubs, studios, theatres, and art departments.
