I am a Technical Operator at BBC Look North with an ambition to expand my skills within the creative industries. I have transferable skills from previous jobs, such as working abroad in a bar, my undergraduate degree and my current postgraduate course. I have excellent communication and time management skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure, the latter being something I have become more skilled at since working at the BBC. I have previous experience on film sets, working as an editor and sound recordist for short films, and script supervising / clapper loading for a feature film in July 2024. Additionally, I have a degree in Film Studies, graduating with a First Class honours, and completed a short screenwriting course with the NFTS in 2023, which displays my own creativity and my commitment to working in the creative industries.
I am particularly interested in cameras and camera operating, which I have some experience with through my role at the BBC. Currently, my knowledge is limited to the studio cameras and camera moves that are suitable for our broadcast. I have been awaiting camera crew experience, but have not received this yet. I wrote, filmed and edited my own piece of journalism for Look North which aired in December 2025 which shows my willingness to learn and expand my skillset.
