Description

British Sign Language interpreter born, raised and cultivated in Birmingham but living and working in Stratford, in East London.

Having qualified in Spring 2024, I have worked in domains such as conferencing, small events, film festivals (SXSW, SAFAR), a production wrap party, Christmas carols as well as corporate, medical, theatre rehearsal rooms for BSL consultant and Youth Theatre.

Special Interests

I have a strong interest in equity, diversity, and inclusion, and in how these principles shape our profession and the wider world. Everything I do is guided by a commitment to accessible and equitable communication

I am from a British Punjabi background, 2.5th generation immigrant so I can speak fluent conversational Punjabi, as well as BSL.

Prior to becoming a BSL interpreter I was a support worker for 3 years for people who are Deaf-blind so I also can use Deafblind manual hands-on sign language.

I am interested in fashion, beauty, technology, agriculture, current affairs, Y2K, queer voices and Gen Z.
