With a First Class degree in Performance Costume from Edinburgh University and previous experience within the costume industry, I am looking to develop my skills within the screen costume industry as well as gain an understanding on what roles within the industry best suit my abilities. My experience in 2025 for film included roles such as a costume trainee and costume assistant. I found that my hard working and quick thinking allowed for me to thrive within the film and tv industry. I have experience dressing and managing crowd as well as being a professional standby for principles. I enjoy the environment on a set and find it interesting how each department works well together to create the final movie. My experience as a costume assistant on set involved helping with line ups, prepping and emptying trailers, documenting continuity for both crowd and principles as well as maintaining professional, kind and energetic. I have also worked in a range of costume jobs such as in a costume assistant position for the National Theatre. My role involved attending fittings, taking notes and updating the shared costume worksheet. I was also responsible for sourcing costumes, buying costumes and documenting the progress of the costumes. This role required organisational and administration skills and I found that I thrived working in a busy and fast paced environment where I had to manage multiple jobs and remain calm under pressure. I would be very grateful for any opportunity in working or gaining experience within the film industry as since working for a year in the industry since a two year break I am incredibly eager to continue to learn and gain skills in costume. I have learnt how critical it is to communicate and be confident when working within a team and I thrive working in high pressure environments that require hard work and excellent organisation and time management.
