Description

I am a criminologist with a strong passion for storytelling, dedicated to bringing real-life true crime events to the screen through an informed, ethical, and human-centred lens. My work is grounded in rigorous research, clear organisation, and a deep understanding of criminal behaviour, victimology, and justice systems. I approach every project with compassion and empathy, ensuring that each story is treated with respect while remaining truthful to the complexities of real events. By combining academic insight with narrative craft, I aim to create impactful, responsible, and engaging true crime content that resonates with audiences and honours the people at its core.

Alongside my criminology and true-crime work, I’m developing a comedy sitcom inspired by real-life experiences in the housing sector. The series blends sharp observational humour with the everyday chaos, characters, and absurdities that only frontline housing work can provide. Series One is now almost complete, with Series Two and a Christmas Special already in the pipeline.

The project has received excellent feedback from several screenwriters, as well as a director and producer, who have all highlighted its strong potential and clear trajectory towards becoming a full pilot. Their responses have reinforced the show's originality, relatable voice, and natural comedic rhythm, encouraging me to take the next steps in shaping it for screen.

Special Interests

My writing ability is shaped by two very different but equally meaningful creative paths: true crime non-fiction and comedy storytelling. Although I’m not a formally trained writer, I write from passion, curiosity, and a self-taught foundation built through my academic experience in criminology. This has allowed me to develop a grounded, analytical approach to true crime, while also nurturing a sharp instinct for humour, character, and timing within my sitcom work.

Writing true crime has strengthened my discipline in research, evidence interpretation, and transforming complex real-world events into structured, accessible narratives. I’ve learned how to organise large volumes of material, maintain factual accuracy, and write with empathy, sensitivity, and nuance.

In contrast, my comedy sitcom writing has refined my skills in character development, comedic pacing, and creating layered story arcs across multiple episodes. It has taught me how to elevate everyday situations, find humour in real experience, and shape dialogue that feels natural, engaging, and purposeful.

Together, these two forms of writing have broadened my creative range and strengthened my overall craft. They allow me to move confidently between tone, structure, and style, combining analytical precision with imagination and emotional awareness. This blend of skills reflects both my versatility as a writer and my commitment to learning, improving, and telling stories that connect with people in different, meaningful ways.
