Hey, I'm Matisse!With a background in modelmaking, illustration, graphic design, ceramics and more, I proudly call myself an illustrative maker: someone who cannot only come up with concepts and stories but also bring them to life with physical craft!At the heart of my work is a desire to help people and connect with audiences emotionally. I often explore serious topics through lighthearted, character-driven design, using humour and charm to engage and inform. My recently obtained degree in modelmaking has helped me build a diverse, hybrid skill set ranging from CAD all the way to miniature upholstery. I’m known for the distinctive personality in my work and my open, curious, and collaborative approach. I’m happiest when working with my hands to bring smiles to people’s faces, and I’m always eager to experiment with new materials, share ideas, and keep my childlike imagination at the centre of everything I create!
My biggest focus in life is on visual storytelling. I love to do this through cartoony creations especially for children's programs and stop motion! Character design and illustration is also something near and dear to my heart ever since I was kid too!
