Hello!My name’s John, and I’m an aspiring filmmaker based in Cheshire.Over the past few years, I’ve worked on independent projects across the UK and studied film in London. I’m now eager to gain more on-set experience, particularly within the camera and lighting departments.I’ve previously worked as a camera assistant, lighting technician, and cinematographer on independent productions, and I’m keen to continue developing my skills under experienced professionals as a trainee or assistant on larger-scale shoots.
Out of all the creative facets of filmmaking, I’m most drawn to cinematography.I’m fascinated by the way a camera moves, how light is shaped and directed, the length of a shot and its relationship to the ones around it, and the overall colour palette that ties together places and characters.I’m especially interested in how these choices—of movement, light, and colour—shape the story and influence the thoughts and emotions that arise in the viewer.
