My name is Raul Marin, I’m a summer 2025 Visual Effects and Motion Graphics graduate from Brunel University. I'm half Spanish half Indian, I'm bilingual (Speak fluent Spanish and English), I live in West Drayton, and I specialise in videography and video editing.I find video editing extremely satisfying; I love getting the timing of shots right, deciding how long each shot should stay on screen for, and seeing the final product after editing a video is always extremely satisfying.Over the last year, I have had some opportunities to put those skills to use through freelance videography and editing for red carpet film premieres, starting with the Deadpool and Wolverine UK red carpet event in July 2024, and most recently at the 78th BAFTAs ceremony in February.I have also been able to develop my 3D Modelling & Animation skills throughout the many modules on my course, and more recently, my final year major project, where I used motion capture to create a 3D animated short film.At all the premieres, I used the Sony FX3, 50mm lens, 12 - 18mm lens, the XLR handle unit and shotgun microphone. After each premiere, I created a montage of the interviews, that were edited for brevity and conciseness and then posted online and on social media. Through freelance work and the assignments at university, I was operating cameras, using relevant filming equipment, managing a green screen room and doing filming setup.
Recently have started making short video edits of characters and uploading them to TikTok, to improve and maintain my video editing skills. These have helped me to pay attention to timing, rhythm and syncing the sound effects of the clips I'm using to the song I have chosen while editing. They have also been a way for me to learn another editing software besides Premiere Pro since graduating - Davinci Resolve.During my university course, and through the freelance work, I've become proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, InDesign and Lightroom.I am a massive Star Wars and Marvel fan, and love collecting memorabilia from various franchises.
