Description
I have gained hands-on experience across multiple roles within the camera department and general crew, working on both university productions and professional film sets. As a Camera Trainee, I assisted in setting up and maintaining camera equipment, ensured batteries and media were properly managed, and supported the camera team in smooth on-set operations. I demonstrated strong awareness of on-set protocols, focus pulling processes, and lens handling.
In my role as a 1st Camera Assistant (Focus Puller) on university productions, I was responsible for maintaining precise focus during takes, assembling and disassembling camera rigs, and coordinating with the DP and 2nd AC to ensure efficient setups. I developed strong technical knowledge of camera systems, lens calibration, and wireless focus systems. I maintained clear communication and quick adaptability in high-pressure situations, helping to minimise downtime and ensure visual continuity.
As a Runner, I supported multiple departments with general tasks, showing reliability, time management, and a proactive attitude. I helped with equipment transport, coordinated talent and crew logistics, and ensured the set remained organised and efficient.
Across all roles, I have demonstrated a keen eye for detail, respect for set etiquette, and a strong team-oriented mindset. My varied experience has given me a well-rounded understanding of the camera department's workflow and the fast-paced nature of production environments.
Special Interests
I have a deep passion for visual storytelling, with special interests spanning film photography, cinematography, colour grading, editing, and camera operation. These disciplines allow me to explore both the technical and artistic sides of filmmaking, and I continually seek to refine my skills across each area.
My interest in film photography began with shooting on 35mm and 120 film formats, where I developed a strong appreciation for composition, light, and texture. Working with film has taught me patience, attention to detail, and a deeper understanding of exposure and framing skills that directly influence my work in motion picture.
As a budding cinematographer, I’m fascinated by how visual language shapes emotion and narrative. I enjoy collaborating with directors to create compelling images that serve the story. I regularly study lighting techniques, camera movement, lens choices, and visual references to strengthen my ability to translate ideas into powerful visuals.
In colour grading, I’m drawn to how mood and tone can be sculpted in post-production. I have experience using DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro, where I experiment with contrast, LUTs, and colour palettes to enhance the cinematic quality of a project while maintaining continuity and intention.
I also enjoy editing, where timing, rhythm, and pacing bring stories to life. I see editing as the final rewrite of the film a space to shape performance, build tension, and fine-tune the narrative arc. I’m confident in assembling and cutting footage, syncing audio, and creating smooth transitions between shots.
As a camera operator, I thrive on being close to the action, capturing performances and visuals that align with the director’s vision. I’m comfortable with various camera systems and always work to ensure smooth, intentional movement and accurate framing.
