My name is Tilly shorten, I am incredibly inspired and interested by films and as a young artist, I aspire to work within the film industry. I am constantly and heavily engrossed by films and the stunning stories they create. I truly believe that they serve as another worldly escape as we become engrossed by different stories, characters and universes. I would love to work and inspire others by helping to contribute to the creation of astounding and eye opening journeys. Currently I do not have any experience within the film world but I would so desperately love to change that. I am an incredibly hard working person who can effectively work independently and collaboratively. I love infusing time and effort for the best possible outcomes, high quality production is what leads to full immersion for an audience, which I aspire to be able to do. I have talents in multiple areas, painting, modelling, drawing, sewing, photographing, digital working and many more combinations. I would love to learn how to apply my skills into a professional film position and work learning from the professionals.
Specifically, I am heavily interested in Science fiction films. I find their uniqueness and individuality absolutely captivating. I would love more than anything to become an Art Director or Director, I think helping to develop movies on such a large scale is life changing and truly wonderful. I am especially inspired by directors such as Denis Villeneuve, James Cameron, James Gunn, Christopher Nolan and Steven Spielberg, just to name a few. Specific works such as the Dune franchise truly gave me goosebumps in inspiration and realisation. I realised how desperately I wanted to help develop such stunning and moving art work. Denis Villeneuve’s use of meaningful colour and scale is absolutely breathtaking and I’m severely inspired by his style of directing. The dune movies have such detailed characteristic, breathtaking scenes, stunning acting and phenomenal directory. Such as each small action linking to another I’d love to be able to create such layered and intricate detail within a film. Similar traits are presented in Blade runner 2049, another absolutely stunning piece. I would love to learn how to appropriate colour and emotion in the way that he does to really move and express the emotion to the audience. James Cameron’s avatar movies are absolutely chimeric. The level of immersion the avatar movies create is unmatched to any other, to create that level of detail is the absolute most inspirational. Such beautiful acting carefully blended with an extremely well thought out story line is incredibly admirable. The creativity of the characters and creatures is breathtaking, the detail and complexity of the pandora world is like no other. Interstellar is a movie that truly changed my perspective on life, the scale of detail is out of this world and my admiration is unmatched. I think being able to inspire and change people’s life’s through such inspirational stories and moments is an absolute honour and I wish nothing more than to inspire others with my work.
