Skills Profile
Through my BA (Hons) in Interior Design and Styling, I have developed a solid foundation in spatial design, creative problem-solving, and visual storytelling — all of which I believe are highly transferrable to set design for film, television, and music videos. My training has equipped me with the ability to take conceptual ideas and translate them into practical, visually engaging environments that support narrative and mood.
I am proficient in a range of industry-standard design software, including:
Adobe Photoshop – image editing, concept visuals, mood boards, and presentation layouts
Google SketchUp – 3D modelling, spatial planning, and design mock-ups
AutoCAD – technical drawings, accurate floor plans, and construction documentation
Adobe InDesign – polished presentations, portfolio design, and layout work
Canva – quick, effective graphic design and communication tools
Alongside my software expertise, I have strong skills in research, design development, and styling, with an eye for colour, texture, and materiality. I am confident in both digital and hand-drawn visualisation, and I thrive in collaborative environments where creative ideas are shared and developed into tangible outcomes.
Currently undertaking my MA in Built Environments, I continue to refine my ability to think critically about how spaces are designed, constructed, and experienced, which adds another layer of depth to my creative practice.
I am eager to apply these skills to set design, where I can contribute to the creation of immersive, memorable spaces that bring stories to life.

I have a strong interest in the creative industries, particularly in how design can be used to shape experiences, tell stories, and transport audiences into new worlds. My passion lies in the crossover between interior design and visual storytelling, which is why set design for film, television, and music videos excites me so much. I am fascinated by the way spaces can influence mood, character, and narrative, and I enjoy exploring how materials, textures, colours, and spatial arrangements can evoke specific emotions or atmospheres.
Beyond my academic studies, I am deeply inspired by film, television, and theatre, often analysing set design choices and thinking about how they contribute to the storytelling process. I have a particular interest in period dramas and fantasy productions, where design plays a crucial role in world-building, but I am equally drawn to contemporary productions that use space and styling in subtle but powerful ways.
I also have a keen eye for visual culture and enjoy exploring photography, fashion styling, and graphic design, which inform my creative practice and help me stay up to date with trends in aesthetics and design. I enjoy experimenting with creative tools such as Photoshop, SketchUp, and InDesign not only as part of my studies but also for personal projects, which has strengthened my technical confidence and creativity.
Another area of interest is sustainable and innovative design. Through my MA in Built Environments, I am developing an awareness of how sustainable practices can be integrated into design processes, which I believe will be increasingly relevant in the entertainment industry as productions move towards greener practices.
Overall, my special interests reflect a blend of design, storytelling, and cultural exploration, and I am enthusiastic about developing these further through hands-on experience in the film and television industry.
