Description

I am a UK-based, highly skilled special effects (SFX) makeup artist and prosthetic designer specialising in TV, film, and live performance. My expertise covers silicone and latex prosthetic application, trauma simulation (wounds, burns, scars, malnourishment effects), life casting, sculpting, and advanced character-driven makeup design. I combine strong technical skill with narrative sensitivity, ensuring every look enhances performance, supports storytelling, and withstands on-set demands.

My work spans historical period styling (1920s, 1940s, 1970s), anatomical prosthetics, and fantasy/horror transformations, always backed by in-depth research for authenticity. I am proficient in airbrushing, colour theory, tattoo cover-up, HD camera grooming, wig refronting, postiche knotting, laying on hair, and barbering. I maintain meticulous continuity control and set bag organisation, enabling seamless application and touch-ups across multi-day shoots and out-of-sequence filming.

Credits include independent short films (Baby on Board), festival events (Bestival Planet Debenhams, sponsored by NYX), theatrical productions, and corporate simulation training. I have proven adaptability in both solo and team roles, thriving in fast-paced, high-pressure filming environments and adapting to varied lighting, weather, and production needs.

I hold a BA (Hons) in Makeup for Media & Performance (Arts University Bournemouth) and a VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Theatrical, Special Effects, Hair & Media Makeup, alongside ScreenSkills certifications in Safeguarding and Harassment/Bullying Prevention. My goal is to contribute high-quality, innovative SFX and prosthetic work to UK and international productions, particularly in genres that demand immersive world-building and cinematic realism.

Special Interests

My primary creative focus lies in SFX makeup and prosthetic artistry for film and television productions, with a particular passion for horror, thriller, period drama, and fantasy genres. I am inspired by the transformative potential of makeup to alter audience perception, create emotional impact, and bring complex characters to life. My work on The Disputed Retribution of the Camel Killer allowed me to merge realistic anatomical effects with stylised horror elements, while Scars of War challenged me to depict historically accurate trauma with sensitivity and authenticity.

I am drawn to projects that require research-based character design, whether for historically accurate recreations or imaginative re-interpretations. For example, my Medieval Witch makeup blended period accuracy with SFX burns, texture work, and symbolic detailing to create a haunting, believable presence.

Beyond prosthetic and SFX work, I am passionate about on-set collaboration—working closely with directors, cinematographers, and costume designers to ensure cohesive visual storytelling. My versatility extends to wig work, postiche making, barbering, and period hairstyling, enabling me to support productions that require both beauty and character work.

I actively seek roles where I can push technical boundaries, whether experimenting with new prosthetic materials, refining high-speed application methods, or problem-solving under production constraints. I aim to develop my career within UK-based productions while building an international portfolio, specialising in prosthetics, character creation, and advanced special effects makeup for film and TV that demands both cinematic quality and practical on-set functionality.
