Description
I have strong communication and organisational skills, which allow me to maintain clear information flow, a stable pace of work, and efficient progress in collaborative environments. In the UK, I volunteered as a host at FoodCycle, where I welcomed guests, introduced meals, and engaged with people from diverse backgrounds. This experience helped me build trust with strangers and foster a warm and inclusive atmosphere. At the British Heart Foundation charity shop, I handled sorting, tagging, steaming clothes, and warehouse organisation, which trained me to stay patient, detail-oriented, and efficient in repetitive and busy tasks.
During my undergraduate studies, I interned at China News Service, where I regularly participated in interviewing, filming, and editing news packages. I was often required to process large volumes of information and produce high-quality content within tight deadlines. This strengthened my ability to work under pressure and developed my sensitivity to structure, pacing, and narrative clarity.
I also directed a 12-minute narrative short film in China during my BA. Due to budget constraints, I took on multiple roles—including director, writer, and producer—managing cast, locations, props, and the entire production workflow. This deepened my understanding of inter-departmental dependencies and taught me how to adapt and problem-solve with limited resources.
In addition, I am proficient in Excel, Word, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Canva. I have a solid grasp of basic editing and filming workflows, strong time management skills, and an understanding of on-set etiquette. I am fluent in both Mandarin (native) and English, and I thrive in culturally diverse and collaborative environments.
Together, these cross-sector experiences have built a strong foundation for me to quickly adapt to the pace of a production set, understand team dynamics, and effectively support the AD department with coordination and execution tasks.
