Skills and Description for Filming in EnglandI bring a diverse skill set to filming projects in England, grounded in problem solving and human-computer interaction. I have engaged in meaningful discussions with performance interpreters during stage productions of Henry V by William Shakespeare, focusing on accessibility, communication strategies, and audience engagement. My work often involves identifying individual skills and transforming perceived weaknesses into strengths. This includes developing communication techniques, enhancing turn-taking practices, and refining the use of grammar in both written and spoken formats. These skills have been crucial in collaborating with neurodiverse individuals and supporting inclusive practices in live performances and digital media. As a website spotter, I assess online content for usability and accessibility, ensuring it meets diverse user needs. In my roles as an AI consultant and accessibility consultant, I work across technology and creative industries to improve the design of user interfaces and audience experiences. My approach blends creative insight with technical awareness, bridging the gap between performers, technologists, and audiences. I am passionate about creating inclusive environments where every participant on stage, behind the scenes, or in digital space can contribute meaningfully.
My Special InterestsAs a Deaf person, my special interest lies in how Deaf identity and lived experiences are represented through documentaries and films. These stories resonate deeply with me, as they reflect my life journey and the broader reality of the Deaf community - our barriers, culture, sign language, and the ongoing fight for education rights.I’m especially moved when films go beyond raising awareness to create emotional connections with audiences through real-life stories, strong narratives, and meaningful outcomes. Productions such as Signs for Change (BBC iPlayer), CODA (Apple TV+), Reunion (BBC), and Code of Silence (ITV) highlight key aspects of our grassroots Deaf community and British Sign Language (BSL). They don’t just inform - they inspire and empower.A major influence on me is the Deaf President Now! movement at Gallaudet University in 1988, where Deaf students successfully protested for Deaf leadership. It was a turning point in Deaf history that empowered our community worldwide and continues to motivate my passion for representation, accessibility, and equal rights.Seeing Deaf lives portrayed authentically on screen supports Deaf pride, identity, and public understanding. That’s why this area is so meaningful to me: personally, politically, and creatively.
