Description

I am a dedicated and experienced filmmaker specializing in the camera department, with over six years of dedicated training, including a BA (Hons) from Screen and Film School Brighton (now MET Film School Brighton ). Throughout my career, I’ve worked on a range of personal and professional projects, most notably the award-winning short film “When Will the Wind Stop Carrying Us?”, which received recognition at the Brighton Rocks Film Festival, and “Messiah”, where I’m credited on IMDb as a Camera Assistant. My technical training has provided me with hands-on experience using industry-standard cameras such as the ARRI Alexa Mini, RED Gemini 5K, Sony FX9, Canon C300 Mk III, and Blackmagic Pocket 4K. I’m also proficient with essential camera grip tools and accessories including the Ronin RS2, wireless follow focus systems, and wireless monitor setups.
I have worked in various roles across the camera team, including Director of Photography (DOP), 1st Assistant Camera (1st AC), 2nd Assistant Camera/Clapper Loader, and Camera Trainee. These experiences have equipped me with a diverse and adaptable skill set that I bring to every production. My strengths lie in two key areas: first, my proactive approach on set — I consistently stay ahead of the shot list, preparing lenses, batteries, and equipment in advance to ensure smooth transitions and avoid delays. For example, while working as a 1st and 2nd AC, I made it a point to have the next lens ready and in place before it was needed, allowing for faster setup and less downtime. Second, my creative approach is influenced by renowned cinematographers such as Roger Deakins and Greig Fraser, whose work has helped shape my own visual style. I aim to bring both technical precision and artistic insight to every project I’m part of.

Special Interests

An interest I have is in multimedia advertising, which has given me valuable insights into how different platforms require different approaches to video content. For example, on platforms like YouTube and Instagram, using an intro—such as a logo or brief text introduction—can be effective in establishing brand identity or context. However, on TikTok, this approach often fails due to the platform’s fast-paced, algorithm-driven nature. On TikTok, it’s crucial to capture the viewer’s attention instantly; otherwise, the video is likely to be skipped, limiting its reach and impact.
I discovered this through personal experience while advertising my film Primeval Genesis. Initially, I created TikTok ads with a short text intro announcing the film’s release date. These videos received around 100 views. After re-editing the content to remove the intro and start immediately with an engaging moment, the new version received over 800 views—an eightfold increase. This experience reinforced how important it is to understand and adapt to the unique dynamics of each platform. Without this interest in platform-specific advertising strategies, my film would have reached a much smaller audience and had significantly less impact.
