I trained at the Bournemouth and Poole Film School and it stood me in very good stead. I'm a bit Old School. I'll admit it. I try to use three point lighting. Start with the artist's eyes and work my way out! Storytelling using light to inform the character and motivation of the scene has become second nature to me really. I guess it comes from doing thousands of set ups and scenes over the years. I honestly believe that you never stop learning. The moment you think you have, you're in trouble!
I have done a great deal of period 'Cosy Crime' stuff. I love it. Nuns. I'm good at nuns. And I know how to light a trilby hat. There's a knack to it you know!
