With a background in Assistant Directing and then editorial, I have the skills and understanding of everything involved in a shoot, from the blank page of a script, to the prep and the shoot, and post-production. I am able to interact with all departments through a script process to understand what is achievable and always make the story work whatever the restrictions, if there are any. Ability of talking to actors about scripts and production issues to allay any of their concerns.I have worked on stories covering all the themes you can think of, making character driven drama to tell important stories.
I am interested in continuing with what I have learnt to take it into the direction of producing. Having worked extensively in Continuing Drama, where you learn all the skills required to tell good stories, and to develop them quickly, and to manage busy shoots, I am looking to continue that in higher end television. I am particularly interested in the crime genre.I am currently attending the Mission Accomplished Step Up To HOD course to look to fill gaps in my knowledge of HETV.Having worked in the West Midlands for a long time, I have experience of filming at locations around the region, as well as knowing skilled crew from the region.
