A reliable and hard-working member of the team. I have experience of being a production runner on three independent short films with these roles including, keeping the set tidy, arranging props, sorting transportation and accommodation for actors, making arrangements in relation to food orders and collection, and taking notes from the producer and communicate these effectively with the crew.
For one of these productions titled 'Blood Society', I also worked as a Casting Director and it was my responsibility to read through the script, contact agents, audition actors, hold discussions with the producers, and negotiate cast contracts prior to the start of production.
Additionally, I've also worked as a backstage production assistant for numerous productions staged by the Stagecoach Theatre School franchise, including Singing in the Rain, Beauty and the Beast, Madagascar, Annie, and Shrek Jr. As a production assistant my responsibilities were as follows: communicating with the cast and director, ensuring cast members are in the right place at the right time, assisting with props and costume changes, prompting, and being a reliable point of call to deal with any issues that arise.
I am skilled in time management and organisation, effectively prioritising jobs and proactively problem-solving where required. I have the ability to remain calm under pressure, thriving in chaotic environments, and taking initiative to complete what needs to be done. I am also kind and empathetic, able to listen and follow directive, but also willing to ask for help when needed.
Special Interests
I have a keen interest in writing for theatre and film and wrote a full length stage play titled Lei's Dream. I produced and directed this play as part of the Birmingham Fringe Festival in July 2024 and it was performed at The Crescent Theatre, receiving positive reviews. It is my ambition to have the play published and professionally toured across the UK. Aside from writing, I also have a passion for acting and have performed in theatre, shorts, and as an extra in feature films. My showreel can be found on my Star now profile.
