I am passionate about creating projects, especially in film and music. My journey started in my teenage years when I saw Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel.” His unique style and mix of comedy and drama inspired me.As I finished secondary school, I discovered Donald Glover. His work influenced my choice to pursue filmmaking. At that time I felt that society often overlooked black men who do not fit the "hyper-masculine" stereotype. Glover’s honesty in “Because The Internet” and his characters Troy in "Community" and Earn in "Atlanta" resonated with my experiences. This fueled my desire to tell important stories. After school, I took a gap year and moved from Lisbon to Birmingham to study Film and Animation at Birmingham City University. There, I sharpened my skills in storytelling, visual language, organizing shoots, and editing.Since graduating, I worked part-time at a cinema and as a freelance filmmaker focusing on photography and videography. In September 2023, I became a Graduate Coach in the media department at Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst, similar to a teaching assistant role. This experience helped me understand the role of film in education and how it affects student learning. Talking with students about films like “Rocky,” “Soul,” and “Kung Fu Panda” showed me how media impacts young minds.Currently, I work as a supply teacher in different schools in Birmingham.
I can speak Portuguese fluently and have basic knowledge of Spanish and Italian. Besides film I enjoy reading books, music and football.
