I have learned a multitude of skills both on set and off. Through my training I have learned how to set up monitors for focus, script, directors and checks, this includes setting up Vaxis receivers and Vuer (with 2 servs and a link for 2nd camera days). As a trainee, I have also been learning the value of organising kit and being stood by on set to assist the focus puller and loader when needed. On Waterloo Road, I have had chances to perform some of the on-set loading skills such as swinging lenses, clapping the board and camera note taking. I have also completed some off-set loading responsibilities such as loading the camera truck and booking in kit. I’m looking forward to finishing my trainee scheme and getting to know more people in the industry to see what knowledge they can provide me to further my education within the camera department.
Outside of my work, I have varied interests: I am a keen musician, having completed Grade 2 in piano and, more recently, started learning guitar. I am also a keen sports person as I have attended gymnastics for many years and still enjoy keeping fit; I am also a proficient swimmer, having completed an early lifeguard course. Aside from this, I have developed my own Tote bag business, selling customisable and hand painted tote bags to customers across the UK. This has taught me the necessary skills to engage with customers and develop my niche through social media, reflecting my resourceful personality.I have always been a keen artist and photographer, and my recent work experience has enabled me to develop my creativity and skills in filmmaking, such that I am in the process of creating my own portfolio of short films.
