Having studied a Masters in Film, Animation and Digital Arts, I have had the opportunity to immerse myself in various creative, production and technical roles. These skills began through organising live music events whilst studying my Bachelors in Creative Music Technology, and have since blossomed into experience across numerous departments at all stages of production. I have since been employed as Producer for the new Sustain Film Festival in Guildford, Surrey, but still practice creativity and production outside of this, helping out on projects in creative, planning, and production capacities.
My production experiences began out of a necessity; I saw something that wasn’t happening which I felt needed to. As the world was in turmoil in 2020, I decided to hold a charity fundraiser, which soared past my expectations and raised over £1500, more than three times the goal. Invigorated, I decided I would try a great many things at university, knowing they could go much better than expected. As the pandemic restrictions were finally wound down towards my third year, there were events and societies I hoped to partake in which had suffered significantly, with few or no students left with the knowledge of how they were initially run. I took positions running various live events, as well as committee positions in Stag Radio.Having significant production experience already through these, I was most excited for my Masters to focus on writing, directing and music practices; essentially, storytelling. These I do in my spare time, as well as paid whenever possible, and thoroughly relish the chance to work in a team with any such positions. More generally speaking, the more often I’m either creating or away from a desk, the happier I am.
