I am a passionate new entrant into filmmaking with aspirations to build towards a career in film production through the running/assistant director's department. I am looking for entry level roles in Running, Assistant directing and script supervising - I care about story, have great attention to detail, want to aid continuity and work alongside other creatives to help the set run smoothly.Through work experience with the Lighting department with Clerkenwell Films, I have developed adaptability, time management and communication within the department to ensure tasks are completed quickly. During this, I also gained hands-on experience of the expectations required on a film set, learnt quickly and was always on hand to help the team. Further to this, I made connections in DIT, Locations, Script Supervising and Running, learning from them their daily responsibilities.I am interested in Script Supervising as keeping track of continuity and aligning production to script is an integral and fascinating part of production that supports the smooth running of production and post-production significantly.I hold a First BA in Creative Writing and English Literature and have a background in screenwriting before moving into film production. Now, I am undertaking an MA in Film Directing, where I have directed several short films, and am constantly looking to improve my craft to prepare for entering the industry.Through hospitality, I have gained time management skills, adaptability and working well under pressure. I am dependable and will juggle tasks to ensure I give my all to the production. No matter the task, I am dedicated and committed to completing the role.I am extremely passionate and looking for that step up into the industry, and I believe my different avenue to discovering this passion gives me a refreshing outlook on filmmaking, visual narratives and storytelling itself.
Having studied Apocalyptic Fiction and Contemporary Literature, as well as Screenwriting itself, I am well-versed in contemporary themes and apocalyptic visions of the future, which often seem chillingly close to real life.I have experience writing across several genres, both for screen and for podcasts, as well as a good understanding of studio audio recording from my work on the podcast overlay for my student film.I am interested in learning composition and colour grading, and I am fascinated by how the use of darkness and shadow can heavily influence a scene's emotional tone. I believe that the power of darkness and what one cannot see plays as important a role in a successful composition and visual narrative as what appears the brightest and clearest.I would also like to train as a Runner and in the Script Supervising departments, but I am excited about all opportunities that get me working with other creatives on set. Whatever the role, I will give it my absolute 100%.
