Currently looking for a new challenge where I can indulge my passion for script writing whilst learning about the film industry, with a view to becoming an Assistant Director in due course. I aim to work with industry experts and hence be able to learn from their experiences. I’d like to contribute to improving audience experiences and efficiency within production. Any roles within production or pre-production would be my preference, anywhere I can contribute creatively would be a bonus.Until I was about 16, I was shy and uncertain of myself, rarely sharing how I felt with those around me. I was always more comfortable listening instead of contributing and this became apparent through my growing love of film and how emotion is conveyed through the screen, through dialogue and more importantly body language and actions.During my last couple years of school, I gained confidence to speak for myself and share who I really was and it urged me to surround myself with those who would help me grow. After a discouraging university stint of 14 months studying architecture through COVID, I had a lot of time to think about what I wanted to do with my life. Since my transition from cautious to self-assured, I realised I didn’t particularly thrive in the typical school environment so I embraced disruption to learn differently. It also made me realise that films had taught me in a way that schools struggle to; using a media that is rarely present in schools and interpretable yet relatable in a way that excels learning and connection. Since realising this, it’s given me the curiosity to see how others express emotions and I have come to appreciate people more. I’ve taken interest in psychology and story writing, since this is where I feel I can express myself the best to teach and influence others. From here, I’ve continued to write and have had the aspiration of directing ever since.
