I’m Daisy Rigden, a floor runner. On the subject of floors, as a child I would sit on the living room one, right up against the TV, absorbing vastly different genres of film that my dad was watching. An immense passion for film and TV production grew, and all I knew about myself was that I wanted to be a part of it. Last summer I worked as a Baker Runner on series 16 of The Great British Bake Off, a role which focused on being a supportive and detail-oriented port of call for all twelve of the bakers, during the shows run. I was responsible for anticipating their needs, ordering and delivering their lunch, chaperoning them around set, sticking to time constraints and liaising with other departments, adjusting the schedule when necessary. I also understand the importance of discretion, and respecting sensitive information. I thrive in an on-set role, and relish liaising with different departments, demonstrating my problem -solving, communication and adaptability in a fast- paced environment. I am deeply committed to learning and developing within the film industry, eventually progressing into the assistant directing department, with my ultimate goal to be a writer/director.
In my spare time, I write, direct, shoot and edit my own short film with my very talented and patient friends. I like to create films that have a strong message about pressing issues in modern life. My first film was a satire about the human disconnection in a phone addicted world, and the second followed my personal experience of living with generalised anxiety disorder. I am also part of my local choir, singing choir arrangements of popular rock and pop songs, such as Queen. I love being a part of group activities, and meeting various people from all walks of life. I really enjoy meeting new people, and working together to a common goal.
