I’ve recently finished studying Film Production at the University of Salford achieving a grade 2:1My proudest moments at University were;• The second year final film project that my production team and I created, was chosen by the University to be put forward as a Kino Short Film entry. Kino Short Film then judged the entries and our film was chosen to be premiered at the Manchester Kino Film Festival in July 2023 – my role was First Assistant Director• I was also chosen by the University to be part of the production team that created a 30 second film stock advert for McVities. This film was then shown at an awards ceremony in London in May 2024 – my role was Lighting GafferMoving forward from this, I strive to use the experience I’ve gained over the course of my degree to enhance my own personal skills and bring value to any workplace environment I am placed into. During my time at University, I have been able to gain knowledge of various roles within the film industry, as well as gaining the experience of being on set and fully understanding the preparation and responsibilities required to effectively and efficiently produce a film. I gained specific experience in multiple roles during my course. The roles I performed were Sound Recordist, Lighting Gaffer & First Assistant Director (twice). I thoroughly enjoyed performing all of these roles as they have enabled me to gain multiple skill sets. This allows me to be more versatile within the workplace and I am extremely keen to be challenged when presented with new and exciting opportunities.I would describe myself as self-motivated with a friendly nature who is passionate about watching and making films. My time living at University has allowed me to develop and enhance essential life skills that I can now take forward with me and use to positively impact situations I’m placed into. I am eager to improve and learn new skills.
In my spare time I pursue my passion for photography and film. I’m always curious as to how scenes are created in films or TV Productions, and often conduct research on the techniques used to create such scenes to enhance my ideas for future projects I may be involved in. I have also recently gained a passion for photography and I’m starting to learn the techniques required to produce a photograph with interest and depth.
