I work in contemporary wardrobe, and am skilled in sourcing vintage and second hand pieces. My aim is to create a story through costume and to reflect a character's psychology. I pride myself on collaborating with other HOD's to paint a beautiful picture in the frame, assigning colour pallets through colour theory, using texture and style to bring the story to life. After graduating from Glasgow School of Art with a BA in Environmental Art in the early 2000's, I excitedly and blindly threw myself into the world of low budget films. Having entered the industry through this unconventional route I learnt on the job; from observing, being on set, assisting designers, student shorts and Bollywood films. My costume talents and 'lets make it happen' attitude led to more senior roles and soon I was designing feature films (The Carer starring Brian Cox and Emilia Fox, Act of God starring David Suchet and Jenny Agutter, Ibiza Undead with Emily Attak and Cara Theobold) and a TV series. (Dream Team X) I became well known for collaborating with directors to create big budget looks while keeping to tight budgets.I am now a mum of teenagers, and due to a (well managed) disability have been enjoying short term jobs, such as supervisor covid/2nd unit cover (Temple,Intelligence), costume fitting work (The Gentlemen, Hijack), principal standby dailies (Wonka, Ghostbusters Frozen Empire, The Marvels) and styling for branded content commercials (Ford, Start-Rite, Harry Potter World) as well as some live TV, (A league of their own, RuPauls Drag Race)I am incredibly keen to work on longer feature length projects very soon!
