I'm a writer/director interested in making character-driven films that blur theboundaries between serious existential themes and a character’s humorous quirks.My work highlights diverse perspectives and cultural nuances between characters unified by common conflicts and situations. These include, but are not limited to, South Asian stories set in the global west, neurodivergent experiences and expression of inner wants amongst societal norms and cultural expectations.I’m deeply interested in human psychology, conditioning and talents, diverse cultural influences united by a common humanity. I’m also very interested in meditation, spirituality and the occult and how they connect with psychology , mythological stories from different cultures, and an open minded approach to personal growth, and how all of us strive to achieve self-actualization in our own way.I've worked in advertising for over 15 years during which I've written and produced several high-budget ad films for global brands. During this time I gained experience in ideas and concepts, creative strategy and collaboration, pitching, scriptwriting, dialogue writing, production planning, photography, typography, post production and filmmaking under tight budgets, high pressures and tight timelines.
I have a deep interest in diverse perspectives and characters, neurodivergent stories, expression of inner wants amongst social expectations, and internal conflict played out as external action that challenge stereotype and showcase a new perspective. I'm always very interested in what makes a human being a person. A lot of us have very rich inner lives. If all the personalities and beliefs we have are acquired after our birth, then what shapes our attitudes, our beliefs, our convictions, our ambitions and our drive? And moreover, when various people grow up in a similar societies, what makes their personalities diverge, to the point conflict arises and how they either collide or learn to coexist - not just in times of peace, but also in the wake of external events and societal changes beyond their control. I'm very interested in these kinds of stories and rooting them in reality. Society is layered and complex, but it’s also the space for the most pathbreaking storytelling to happen. I hope to tell these stories that highlight the human condition and exaggerate our follies - albeit in a comedic or dramatic way. After all, people are the greatest art.
