Description

I’m a Filmmaker and Screenwriter. I am the recipient of the 2023 Stratford on Avon Film Festival "Best Director" award and the 2024 Crystal Palace International Film Festival “Best Student Film” award for my Short Film I wrote and Directed entitled “The Myth". The film has also received two runner up awards: "Best Drama Short" at the 2024 Dreamer of Dreams Film Festival and "Best Student Film" at the Wild Indie Sci-fi & Fantasy Film Festival. Additionally, I am one of the recipients for the 2023 Marina Waldron Prize for "Most Inclusive Production" for the short film I wrote "Not Every Fairy Likes Their Wings”. My zeal for filmmaking stems from my lifelong passion for storytelling. This passion was nurtured into a desire to pursue a career in film by enrolling and completing a Film and TV Production course at Ealing Broadway studios and having work experience at the BFI. Consequently, I studied GCSE Media and A Level Film Studies before enrolling at Ravensbourne University where I acquired both a Distinction Level Foundation Diploma in Art & Design (Design & Media) and graduated with a First Class Degree in Digital Film Production. I have experience in screenwriting, directing, editing, set dressing, set decorating, crowdfunding, auditioning, casting, costuming, payment processing, catering, illustration, touch typing (43 WPM) and using DSLR cameras. I am proficient Final Draft, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Mac OS X, Microsoft 365 and Google Suite. I completed a Screenskills Covid Safety training. I have worked in retail (Primark), customer service (Vue) and voluntary work (Salvation Army). I have experience in till operation, customer service, floor arrangement, cleaning, food service, and managing changing rooms. I am a detail oriented, diligent, professional, individual. I am simultaneously both capable of being a self motivated, focused and reliable individual as well as someone who works well in group environments.

Special Interests

I specialise in creating dramas that explore social issues via a fantastical/mythical lens that centre Black and Black Biracial women like myself. I am passionate about expanding the variety of representation for Ethnic minorities, specifically Black and Biracial British women in Film and TV as their representation has historically and is still presently limited and confined to certain genres and roles. I am an avid Film and TV watcher. I consume films and shows that are predominately Horror, Thriller, Comedy, Drama, Sci-Fi and Fantasy such as: Doctor Who, Euphoria, Westworld, American Vandal, Succession,The Parent Trap, Coraline, Spiderverse series, The Love Witch, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Spirited Away, Heathers, The Prince of Egypt, Suspiria, Helter Skelter, etc. Additionally, I am a frequent cinema goer to help expand my film repertoire and challenge my taste in film. I also frequently enjoy watching video essays that dissect and analyse films and TV shows. Furthermore, I also enjoy singing, dancing, drawing, modelling and writing poetry. I’m currently working on an animated short film that will feature a poem I wrote entitled “His Lens” that focuses on the treatemt of women in the film industry in front of and behind the camera.
