A 24 years old mature Film and Creative Writing student at the University of Birmingham. Looking to get any experience in FTV over the summer, with a particular interest in cinematography, lighting, set design and screenwriting.I have a great natural imagination which I have been putting to the test in my own films. For my first short film ‘Red String’ I wove the colour red throughout the set design to foreshadow how every event is linked together. For ‘faces’ - a short film created entirely by myself (apart from the actor)- I experimented with different lenses and lighting to achieve a tonal shift. This came 2nd place in my University’s annual competition- I will include a link to it below. As the cinematographer on ‘Not Like Other Ghouls’, on the fly I invented multiple creative shots to increase audience engagement ranging from moving shots, focus pulls, depth of field, and perspective changes. Most recently I have been assisting MA students with their final films by contributing to scripts, set and lighting, and monitoring audio.I have created comedy videos since I was a young teenager using iMovie. The visual of film is my art outlet- with it I can spread joy and wonder to others. Taking time away from creating content to find a ‘real’ job took me on a journey of purpose that brought me…right back to where I started. However, without this journey I would not be the dedicated, more worldly and hard-working person I am now. Coming from the working world, my drive to succeed in this industry is immense. Since I started this course in September I have been throwing myself into all possible opportunities- training in cinematography cameras, assisting on productions, networking, teaching myself how to light sets- the list goes on. I want to bring new perspectives and stories to the forefront. I would be honoured and thankful to work with you and help bring your visions to life.
