Hi! I'm Amber, and for the past two years I've been honing my skills as a camera trainee. My experience spans across various formats including short films, HETV, commercials, documentaries, and music videos. I ventured into the film industry after completing my degree in Visual Communication in Leeds, later relocating to Buckinghamshire.Recently, I've embarked on a new journey at the National Film and Television School, diving into their Assistant Camera course in Beaconsfield. This has further solidified my technical knowledge in the digital camera realm, and has given me the confidence to step up as a 2nd AC on multiple different sets. I'm excited to expand my expertise to include 35mm and 16mm formats in the coming modules. I bring a blend of optimism and technical know how to every set, with a knack for anticipating and resolving issues before they arise.I have also really enjoyed throwing myself into the London filmmaking scene through networking events and I actively seek opportunities to immerse myself in the filmmaking community, constantly seeking to expand my knowledge and connections.As a team player, I find joy in the collaborative process of filmmaking. My passion for the craft extends beyond the camera department; I've delved into various aspects of filmmaking, including shooting, editing, colour grading, and sound design. This multifaceted approach was fostered during my time at university, where I formed a dynamic Director/DoP duo, creating numerous films together and continuing our collaboration to this day.Driven by a deep-seated desire to turn my passion into a career, I'm committed to taking any leap to achieve my goals. I'm thrilled at the prospect of furthering my journey in the film industry and contributing to the creation of captivating cinematic experiences through making the camera department as efficient and happy as possible.
Outside of filmmaking I have always been a huge fan of the outdoors and have been camping since I was young, so bad weather rarely gets me down and growing up surrounded my nature gave me a massive appreciation for nature and being mindful of the world around me. I also found my love of art and photography very early on and used to paint portraiture on a large scale. As well as experimental pieces inspired by Tracey Emin. I have also been songwriting since the age of 10 and was able to achieve a Distinction in Grade 8 singing after 10 years of training. I also have a love for sports, having been a young gymnast then getting into long distance running then got into the martial arts doing Tae Kwon Do for 6 years until I found my calling with Krav Maga which I have just started pursuing this year. I have also started Calisthenics for fun and have been doing Yoga for years. In my down time you'll probably find me doing the above or more likely in a field running around with my dogs or spooning my cat! I have also been making my own videos and pushing my creative limits with setting short projects to keep my editing and videography skills up to par and love to make weird worlds and atmospheres in my spare time inspired by my favourite shows and films.
