I am a recent graduate of the University of Cambridge and I am looking to get in to the screen industries. I am interested in the script and location departments in particular. For the former, I have a lot of experience writing and editing scripts for student theatre. I've written and directed my own one-act comedy-drama and written an hour-long comedy sketch show during my time at university, as well as working as an editor on other shows and writing my own stand-up comedy material. I've enjoyed working in theatre but I would love to expand and transition to film, tv or games scripts. For the latter, I don't have any direct experience, but my job as a theatre usher has given me loads of transferrable skills for a position like location marshall (organisation, thinking on my feet, communication, working with the public). After attending a zoom webinar led by Location Routes which went into detail about location and studio positions, I think I would thrive in this exciting department.
As I mentioned above, I write and perform stand-up comedy regularly and have worked on comedy sketch shows, short-form online content and comedy plays in various capacities so I love writing and editing funny stuff and I'm confident in tailoring comedic material to different formats. I love watching British sitcoms such as Ghosts, Friday Night Dinner and We Are Lady Parts. I also love science-fiction (my dream job would be to work on Star Trek!) and my current obsession is the tv series LOST. I love playing video games too, and working on scripts for cut-scenes would be a fantastic job. I'm also very interested in fashion, I'm not a particularly adept sewer or designer, but I have a keen eye for costume so I would be interested in any positions that would fit my experience in that department, too.
