Description
I have gained multiple broadcast Camera assistant and DIT credits, working on both location and studio shoots such as Digging for Britain (BBC Two) and Ainsley’s Fantastic Flavours (ITV). My responsibilities included tailoring the camera set up to suit the different filming environments, planning ahead with the shooting schedule to ensure all the other equipment was ready to be used and wrangling footage to multiple drives while operating various versions of ShotPut Pro.
My proudest achievement has been working on Ice Airport Alaska S4 (Smithsonian) where I spent twenty plus weeks living in Alaska as the series DIT. Throughout my time on the series, I was wrangling footage from multiple cameras rigged to various aircrafts, I was also maintaining the condition of all kit and producing timelapses with specialist equipment. Last year I worked as a minicams operator on Gold Rush (Discovery) in the Yukon in which I received some amazing feedback from the Series Field Producer, this can be found at the bottom of my CV.
I have been lucky enough for these opportunities to be offered to me through Mad Dogs Television, a crew and kit supplier for broadcast television and factual entertainment. For DIT, Mad Dogs can also supply kit along with myself for a discounted price. When I am not working on location, I am preparing equipment for kit hires at Mad Dogs HQ; surrounding myself with high end industry standard equipment on a daily basis. This has enhanced my technical knowledge and my ability to diagnose problems quickly to prevent them from happening on location. I am now searching for my next opportunity to apply both my skills and experience.
