I am a Camera Trainee who wants to specialise in camera department. I have worked as a camera assistant on short films (unpaid) and camera operator on corporate films for companies like Lavender Blue Media.Alongside this I have personally developed myself in different ways. Firstly, I worked at the camera rental house Dynamic Rentals, to learn more about the cinema camera space in terms of cameras, lenses and rigging accessories, for about two years. Secondly, I have taken various Screenskills CPD courses, a Screenskills mentorship and attended free CPD supplied by CVP on specific products and cinematography. Finally, I have made an effort to attend industry events like the BSC Expo every year to try and network with respective people in the industry. All of which has helped me to be informed as the industry ahs evolved I've come into the industry through academia, having attained a first in Film, Radio and Television Studies and then progressing onto a research masters where I looked at The Impact of New and Contemporary technology on Film related activities in Britain'. This involved me researching current trends in each area, such as the increasing demand of virtual production resources, the impact of streaming services on physical media and about how Film Festivals have begun to use digital events in their programming. In this regard, it has made me a disciplined and thorough researcher while also giving me a good knowledge base overall. After finishing my academics in 2022, I have worked as both a BTS style photographer on sets and as a Camera Department worker where I can to gain experience on set. While adept and organised in both roles, which has helped me become more adaptable, I want to climb the Camera Department ladder and learn along the way.
Outside of work I enjoy a variety of sports, particularly Rugby as I support Harlequins, and Formula 1 as I have watched it from 2007 onwards. In combination with the industry, I want to go into as well I've tried to learn as much about how the TV operation works behind events like that as well because I found it genuinely interesting to follow people behind the sport and the jobs they do.In terms of personal hobbies, I love to do creative photography to put on my Instagram, my website (alongside my filmmaking and Behind the Scenes content) and on exhibiting apps like Gurushots where you can enter various competitions focusing on different subjects and themes. On the other hand, I enjoy video games on PS5 and Switch, which is my main way to relax. I'm very enthusiastic about singe player games because I find them fun and emotionally engaging or driving games because it feels incredibly immersive to drive with a steering wheel. One hobby that contributes to work as well is that I love to research the film industry and trends surrounding Cameras and Gear, which helps me write my own blog that helps express my opinion and feelings on those products and trends. Additionally, I like to research and write about trade shows, and my own experience with them; which I hope would help other autistic like me feel more comfortable in those sort of environments.
