Throughout my time in education and employment, organisation, punctuality, and politeness have been ingrained in me. I have varied and valuable experience working to deadlines and managing multiple expectations whether that is over a shift in a café or a semester at University. Both my History with International Relations and Film and Television degrees required hours of research for assignments. For the various essay topics that I covered I explored numerous archives, databases, literature, reports, etc. One of the assignments was an history project. This involved research into the interviewee's topic to prepare questions, then record, transcribe, and present a detailed project and reflective essay on the process. I am hoping to use these experiences to apply to roles in the industry that require research and even beyond that to other roles and writing.I was able to explore research in an industry setting during my work experience at a production office where I was given some research tasks for programmes in production which reinforced my desire to pursue this route. My time at the office also allowed me to spend time with people there in a variety of roles to learn more about the workflow and experience some tasks at each stage of production.During my master's degree I was able to experience filmmaking at a student level to become familiar with the process and try various roles. I produced three films in this time and learned a lot from the production documents required and the organisation, research, responsibility, and communication needed from start to finish which I hope to apply to an industry setting in entry level roles.
Throughout my time studying history and international relations, the GCSE and A Level prior to this, and reading and watching outside of this, I have studied many topics from the past and current politcs. I am particularly interested in the 16th-20th centuries in general and I particularly enjoyed topics of the Cold War, Japanese history, the First World War, and the court of Versailles under Louis XIV.
