Anja Huddart attained a First from Wimbledon College of Art’s Undergraduate Costume course, where she trained to make costumes for film and theatre, with a focus on recreating historical garments. During her time on the course, through detailed analysis and practical investigation, Anja continually broadened her repertoire of sewing techniques and understanding of the complexities of fabrics. For her efforts, Anja won the prestigious Patterns of Fashion Award in her final year. She furthered this passion with an extra year of education in Bespoke Tailoring, which has then allowed her to take on specialty freelance commissions where she guides clients through the process, ensuring a personalised and carefully refined experience, and guaranteeing complete satisfaction with the lovingly finished garments. Anja's latest commission was for a 4-piece navy mohair-blend wedding suit. On the whole, Anja's career path so far has continued in the entertainment industry where she has worked for multiple independent sewing studios in freelance positions, allowing her insight and experience with many alterations and fittings for theatrical, musical and dance performances, working in teams to meet strict deadlines. Her most recent role has been as Junior Costume Maker for a major motion picture filmed at Elstree Studios. Anja has thrived within this hub of creativity; it has allowed her greater professional responsibility and the opportunity to refine her specialties.
