Experience I have gained in the early stage of my design journey mainly include skills and experiences I have learnt at the University of Salford, studying Film TV and Stage Design. I have developed digital and technical skills that cover the principles of a production designer, including script breakdowns, floor plans, elevations, storyboards, graphic designs and visuals using 3D software. My skills cover a wide range of digital softwares including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, SketchUp, Layout and Vectorworks. Since graduating with a first in July 2023, I have gained experience as a ScreenSkills Trainee, Art Department Assistant, and 2 weeks as a petty cash buyer for an Amazon film, Maintenance Required. I am looking to gain further experience as an Art Department Assistant to help out wherever is needed, improving all my creative skills to push myself further into the film and television industry.
My degree in Film, TV and stage design has influenced my early stage of career into the film and television industry. I have discovered an interest in the set decoration route, with enjoyment in petty cash buying, and action prop buying, which I gained my first experience on 'High Hoops' and continued to on other productions. I also love to gain experience in the graphics department to improve my skills on Illustrator and Photoshop. I had the chance to assist the graphic designer on a BBC drama called 'Joe', where I produced posters, leaflets and a variety of dressing graphics for a range of locations including a School, Hospital, GP, and some of the characters home's.
