Having worked successfully in editorial I have become increasingly interested in moving into a role with more logistical and production management responsibility. Taking contracts over the last 12 months outside of the industry has confirmed my desire to pursue and progress my TV career along a production path. In my editorial and productions roles I have experience setting up large shoots in the UK (studio and location) and abroad including; call sheets / schedules / travel itinerary, sourcing accommodation / locations / permits, managing budgets for petty cash/per diems (incl. conversation rates), sourcing crew and kit (potential of licences needed for sound channels), arranging kit for transport (flight regulations / Carnet), health & safety concerning risk assessments (geographical safety / medical concerns), arranging documents (renewal & initial passports / visas) and required shoot paperwork (permits / releases / insurance / contributor / location / archive / rushes logs). I believe that my previous editorial experience and knowledge of casting, shooting & kit gives me good insight into the challenges crews encounter on the ground and enhances my ability to plan appropriately to support a team successfully in a production role. My editorial experience also means that I have worked closely with post production staff in regards to clearances and paperwork needed by production, and requirements of the edit producers/editors to ensure delivery is on schedule.
